Tucked away in Nichabau, Quebec, Northfork is a restored countryside homestead with deep local roots and a timeless spirit. Once a beloved family-run inn, the property has been reimagined as a place to gather, rest, and reconnect—with nature, with others, and with a slower way of living.

We held my father’s Celebration of Life at Northfork, and we couldn’t have been more grateful. With limited options available at the time, Tyler’s willingness to help us on short notice made all the difference. Hosting an event like this in February is no small feat, yet the venue proved absolutely ideal.

More than 80 guests joined us, along with a five-piece band, and there was ample space for the bar, food service, and caterers. The atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and heartfelt—with several inviting rooms that allowed everyone to mingle, share stories, enjoy the music, and gather in comfort.

We celebrated my 65th birthday with a private family dinner at Northfork, and it was absolutely unforgettable. Tyler welcomed us with a tour of the beautiful farmhouse and the other charming buildings on the property, then opened the kitchen for us to enjoy a potluck-style evening together. I have been hosting a weekly yoga class at Northfork, and it has been just fantastic for me and for the participants. Northfork is a spectacular location for events, retreats, and festivals-private, public or corporate. The relaxing vibe of the country starts on the drive to get there. Winding around country roads, along the Ottawa river and lakes, the hilly terrain makes for the most serene views.
